In Britain you’re never more than a couple of miles from an Indian restaurant/take-away.
On main A-roads (eg A 30 in Cornwall) be prepared to spend hours in the 2 foot wide strip between the roaring lorries and the grass verge, littered with stones, nuts & bolts, bits of wood, glass and dead wildlife.
Don't believe the myths about wind direction. Even a tail wind will be in your face about 50% of the time.
Smile when it hurts!
If your companion nips behind a hedge to relieve themselves and returns with wet over-shoes, it’s not necessarily his aim that’s to blame, it could be that the grass is wet!
Jazz up the riding .... play a game of "name that roadkill"
Save your ipod until ½ way through the day.
