Nearly there.....

Hi Bloggers

A quick one tonight, we have arrived in Inverness after another tough day in the saddle.
An incident in the night nearly called an end to this whole tour. I thought I heard a noise in the night but ignored it and went back to sleep. Blurrily I awoke and immediately fancied some of the special stuff (Tablet for those of you that have not been following the blog since Scotland). I went to the butcher for a swift purchase, as I entered the shop shock and horror over took me. My bike was standing in the corner and the butcher had no tablet for sale. I called the police immediately and the butcher was questioned. He informed the officer that he had exchanged his fresh supply of Tablet for the bike from a man who looked like Max Wall, wearing a strange pair of mardi grass over trousers. Benjamin had taken it. In a Tablet fuelled frenzy he had exchanged my bike for his fix of the special stuff. This stuff is seriously addictive and with an air of empathy and forgiveness I decided not to press charges as long as he booked himself into Tablet rehab as soon as we finished the challenge.

After leaving south of Fort William at the crack of dawn we headed up the lochs that would take us to Inverness. This is a beautiful part of the country and the lochs have to been seen. We reached Loch Ness and kept our eyes peeled for the famous beastie.
The main road to Inverness is pretty rough in places and it seems to be the chosen highway for racing motorbikes and cars. At times it was plain scary but with plenty off pit stops we reached our destination in one piece. The rain did manage to put a dampener on the proceedings but only for the last 10 mile of the journey, pretty good considering the forecast was for rain. Not much more to say than that. Tomorrow we push for our final destination, exciting but a little scary. A bit off sun would be nice but just to finish will be reward enough.

Stats for the Day:
Distance = 85.5 miles
Averae speed = 14 mph
Max speed = 33 mph

What happened next? Did you make it? Did you collapse with Tablet overdose? Did you decide to turn round and do it all the other way? This is an unexpected cliff-hanger...
